New Orleans Doesn't Exist...

The city is gone, this most recent hurricane turned it back into part of the sea. They've chosen to abandon the city. There are still rescue teams down there to save people from their own rooftops that decided to ignore the mandatory evacuation and stay at their homes, but they can't do much more than that.

They've been unable to stop the flooding as the waters have been rising since the hurricane. I'm unsure of the news this morning but I doubt the water has stopped rising just yet.

So, if anyone wants to take a boat trip in a couple months I know of a nice place to go.

Really? That's official?! No attempt to rebuild??

I read that indeed, the flooding has ceased, because the water level is up to the level of the lake. I doubt anything else would have made it stop.

Yep, they've decided to abandon the city entirely. Everyone that once lived there will now have to find somewhere else to live. Cities in Texas are keeping close track of the number of hotel rooms available to help accomodate everyone they can.
